I own an independent shop in Surrey, measuring 400 square metres. The shop is in a village with a population of around 5000 people. The majority of habitants are retired, so we get a regular, older trade.
Biscuits are very lucrative, which is why I’ve given them 5 bays in such a small store! They sell quickly, and you have to manage the best selling lines, which are mainly McVitie’s products.
My Top Tip
Stock Price Marked Packs (PMPs), especially the £1 lines which sell quickly. I would also suggest stocking multipacks, like Penguins.
My favourite biscuit:
McVitie’s Digestives – I love dunking them!
A digestive biscuit, sometimes described as a sweet-meal biscuit, is a semi-sweet biscuit that originated in Scotland, and is popular worldwide.
