A twist on a classic, the new Hot Honey Flavour combines the sweetness of honey with chilli heat in a delicious jelly covering the light sponge cake base and coated in the signature crackly dark chocolate

[3rd June, London, UK]: Jaffa Cakes just dropped a hot new twist for Summer 2025 - cue Hot Honey Flavour 🔥🍯. Riding the wave of the ‘swicy’, spicy-sweet food trend -  it’s the ultimate Jaffa glow-up that’s sure to get your taste buds buzzing. 

This fresh take on the much loved classic keeps the signature light sponge and dark crackly chocolate fans know and love, with a surprisingly bold new filling where sweet golden honey meets a hint of chilli. Inspired by the viral ‘swicy’ trend, which has seen a 28% increase in conversation over the past year , it’s the unexpectedly delicious combo you didn’t know you were craving - until now.

McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey Flavour are now available in Asda stores nationwide* (RRP £1.50, and will be rolling out more widely to other retailers and convenience stores from the end of July. 

 

PLADIS ADDS HOT HONEY FLAVOUR TO CONSUMER FAVOURITE MCVITIE’S JAFFA CAKES

June 2025: pladis, the global snacking company behind some of the UK’s most loved and iconic brands, is adding a trending variant to its famous McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes range – McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey Flavour. 

Limited edition McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey Flavour combines the sweetness of honey with chilli heat in a delicious jelly covering the light sponge cake base and coated in the Jaffa Cake signature crackly dark chocolate. 

“This launch builds on the success of limited edition Jaffa Cola Bottle, where hot honey is a flavour that’s trending globally amid a bigger movement that’s seen people embrace sweet and spicy across a wide range of food products,” explains Jessica Woolfrey, Marketing Manager, pladis UK&I. 

“We know consumers are increasingly looking for new and exciting flavours, and ‘swicy’ – sweet and spicy – hot honey is one of the most popular newer trends, with a huge following on social media and across the culinary world.

McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey (RRP £1.50 PMP £1.49) is available in Asda from w/c 9 June, before rolling out more widely to other multiple retailers, wholesale depots and convenience stores from the end of July.

 

 

 

Iconic monuments transformed

Iconic monuments across the capital were transformed with a series of striking projections which included the lastminute.com London Eye reimagined into a towering tribute, featuring a 360-degree rotating projection of the beloved biscuit.

Tower Bridge showcased a rolling showreel with a vibrant burst of balloons, fireworks and confetti, befitting of the momentous centenary milestone.

County Hall followed suit, with passers-by stopping in their tracks to marvel at the impressive display of celebratory scenes and snap a picture.

The stunning spectacle marked the start of a series of centenary celebrations in honour of this beloved biscuit that has been at the heart of tea breaks, celebrations, and everyday moments across the nation for a century. With over 80 million packets sold each year in the UK, McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives are the original, and still the best. In fact, in 2024, more packets of McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives were sold than any other branded biscuit.*

The celebrations also included the opening of a one-of-a-kind concept store at Piccadilly Circus in central London. The McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives Experience indulged fans with the chance to experience their favourite chocolatey biscuit like never before through delicious and unexpected McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives creations, astounding artwork, must-have merch, and plenty more.
